What is an Accessibility Statement?

An Accessibility Statement is a dedicated page that explains your store’s accessibility commitment, available support tools, known limitations, and contact options for accessibility-related feedback.

Does Consentmo create the page automatically?

Yes. Once Web Accessibility is enabled, you can go to the Statement section and generate an Accessibility Statement page for your Shopify store.

What information do I need to add?

You should add your business contact details, including email, phone number, and business address, before generating the page. These details are added to the final statement.

Can I edit the statement after it is created?

Yes. The generated page can be edited from Online Store > Pages in Shopify, just like other store pages.

Where should I link the Accessibility Statement?

You can link it inside the Accessibility Widget footer and add it to your Shopify footer menu so customers can access it easily. Consentmo recommends adding the link to the footer as well.

Does this replace legal advice?

No. The generated statement helps you provide accessibility information to customers, but legal requirements can vary by region and business type. Stores should review their accessibility obligations with qualified legal counsel when needed.
