Consent Records (also known as Consent Logs) are the digital evidence or "receipts" generated every time a visitor interacts with your cookie banner. Under global privacy laws like GDPR (Europe), CCPA/CPRA (California), and LGPD (Brazil), it is not enough to simply have a cookie banner; you must be able to prove that a specific user gave you permission to track their data. Consentmo automates this entire process, creating compliance proof that ensures your store remains audit-ready at all times.

Having a banner is only half the battle. Global privacy laws (especially the GDPR's Accountability Principle) require the merchant to provide proof of consent if challenged. Without these records, you have no way to prove that a user actually clicked "Accept," which can lead to significant legal fines.

To maintain valid proof of consent, Consentmo captures:
- Unique Consent ID: A one-of-a-kind reference number for that specific interaction.
- Consent Timestamp: The exact date and time the user made their choice.
- User Action/Choice: Whether the visitor clicked "Accept All," "Reject All," or selected specific categories.
- Browser & Device Info: Technical details (User Agent) to identify the context of the consent.
- IP Address: Masked for privacy but recorded for location-based legal verification.

Yes. Consentmo provides a robust export feature that allows you to download your technical audit trail. This is a critical feature for merchants who need to present proof of compliance during a legal audit or for internal data processing reviews.
- CSV Format: All records are exported as CSV files, making them easily readable in Excel, Google Sheets, or any data analysis software.  
- Filtered Exports: You don’t have to download everything at once. You can filter by Date Range, Consent ID, or Action Type and export only the specific data you need.

Yes. One of Consentmo’s key features is the Google Drive Backup Integration. You can schedule automated backups (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) that send your consent logs directly to your own Google Drive. This ensures your legal proof is safe even if you change apps or store settings.

Consent Records are included on the Free plan! We believe that fundamental legal protection shouldn't be gated. All plans (including the Free plan) generate and store consent records within the app dashboard, and the ability to Export that data is a premium feature on Plus and higher plans.
