IAB TCF 2.3 Support (Automatic Upgrade)
Your consent signals are now fully aligned with the latest IAB Europe framework.
January 20, 2026
Update
We've upgraded how Consentmo generates and validates consent signals to support IAB TCF 2.3, the latest version of the Transparency & Consent Framework used across the EU.
This update happens fully in the background and ensures that consent data sent to ad and analytics partners remains valid, future-proof, and compliant with the newest IAB Europe requirements, without disrupting your shoppers.
What's new for your store:
- More precise vendor disclosure tracking: Consentmo now deterministically records which vendors were actually disclosed to a shopper and reflects that accurately in the consent signal. This ensures your TC strings meet TCF 2.3's stricter validation rules.
- Updated TC string generation (TCF 2.3-ready): All newly generated consent strings now automatically include the required disclosed vendor information, making them valid under TCF 2.3 expectations.
- Smarter handling of existing consent: Previously stored consent strings are handled safely. When a shopper updates or renews their consent, Consentmo applies the new TCF 2.3 logic automatically, with no forced re-consent and no banner resurfacing.
- Stricter post-deadline validation: Consentmo will no longer generate or accept TC strings that don't meet TCF 2.3 rules. This protects your store from sending invalid consent signals after the IAB enforcement deadline.
💡 No design or UI changes were introduced. No action is required from you.
Head to Settings > TCF 2.3 to enable the feature and keep your store safe in 2026. Available on Enterprise.
