September focused on deeper storefront auditing, age verification on the pages that need it, and read-only AI access to your Consentmo data. We also recertified as a Google CMP Silver Partner, cleaned bot noise out of banner analytics, sharpened Google Consent Mode scanning, and gave EU withdrawal and U.S. privacy choice flows more operational control.
Here is everything that landed, with the newsletter highlights first.
Storefront Accessibility Scanner
Consentmo now includes an Accessibility Scanner so you can spot issues on key storefront pages without leaving the app. You get a score out of 100, a risk level, affected pages, and prioritized findings grouped so you know what to fix first.
- Scan key pages and templates against WCAG 2.2 AA-style checks across contrast, forms, ARIA, navigation, images, headings, keyboard use, language, tables, and media.
- Review an instant accessibility score, risk level, and prioritized issues across pages.
- Run on-demand scans or schedule regular checks after theme and page updates.

Pair it with Accessibility Statement monitoring (also shipped this month) so the public statement page stays loaded, reachable, and linked from the storefront.

Age Verification Pop Up (Age Gate)
Age Gate restricts access to the full store, or only selected pages, products, and collections, until visitors meet your minimum age. It is built for merchants selling age-restricted products or content who need flexible rules and design control.
- Target the whole store, specific paths, products, or collections.
- Set region-based minimum ages and choose confirmation button, date of birth, or birth year verification.
- Customize design and content, including popup size (Small, Medium, Large).
- Use Admin mode to preview before go-live, then enable or disable anytime.
Follow-on updates in September added popup size control and finer product/collection targeting under Age Gate > Setup > Where it appears.

Connect Consentmo to Claude and ChatGPT
Consentmo now supports an MCP connection so you can link Claude or ChatGPT and ask questions about your store’s privacy setup using your Consentmo data.
- Connect Claude, ChatGPT, and related assistant workflows with a one-time key from the app.
- Read-only access to compliance health, trackers, consent rates, and privacy requests.
- Assistants cannot change settings or access customer emails.
This sits alongside existing Sidekick-style integrations so your team can query compliance context where they already work.

Google CMP Silver Partner Recertification
Consentmo completed Google’s latest CMP recertification and remains a Google CMP Silver Partner. Your Shopify store stays on a consent platform that tracks Google’s tagging, measurement, and consent signal requirements.
- Verified support for Google Consent Mode v2
- Helps protect ad measurement, conversion tracking, and remarketing performance in Google Ads and GA4
- Keeps compliance work aligned with reporting you already rely on

More Updates This Month
Bot Traffic Filter for Analytics. Enterprise stores can exclude suspected bot activity from cookie banner reports in Analytics & Reports for cleaner performance data. Detection is on by default for Enterprise; toggle the Traffic filter in the Analytics view. Guide: Exclude Bot Traffic From Cookie Banner Analytics.
Google Consent Mode V2 integration update. Sharper in-app scanning, stronger GT tag support alongside GTM, and a browser console Debug mode for late consent, missing commands, invalid order, or incorrect permissions. If GCM is already enabled, no action is required. Guide: Google Consent Mode Integration Update.
Flexible U.S. “Do Not Sell” choices. Visitors who previously opted out can update preferences more clearly across the Do Not Sell page, US Privacy Requests page, and Smart Privacy Center (“Allow sales of data” flow).
Banner dismissal timing after opt-out. Set how many seconds the banner stays visible after a U.S. opt-out confirmation under Cookie Banner > Behavior > USA Opt-out Signals.
EU Withdrawal: return link, order marking, and On hold. Add a return portal link to withdrawal confirmation emails, auto-tag Shopify orders when a request arrives, and automatically set unfulfilled orders to On hold so fulfillment does not race the request. Manage holds from Privacy Center > EU Withdrawal > Setup.
Accessibility Statement monitoring. Monitoring now flags when the Accessibility Statement is missing, unreachable, or not linked on the storefront, with clear next actions in Web Accessibility > Accessibility Statement.
Tracker Manager new home. Cookie and tracker controls moved under Cookie banner > Cookies & Trackers. “Cookie state before user choice” is easier to see; Settings put Consent Preferences first and group options more clearly.
A/B Testing under Design. A/B Testing now lives under Cookie Banner → Design, next to the banner settings you test.
TCF 2.3 settings page. Interactive banner preview, simpler activation copy, and clearer IAB vendor management under Settings > TCF 2.3.
Age Gate follow-ons. Popup size control and product/collection targeting with Admin mode testing (covered above under Age Gate).
