June brought a mix of fresh features, new laws to track, and technical improvements that help you manage your store's privacy setup better than before. At Consentmo, we’re always looking at how merchants work with the app in real situations - and how we can make that easier, faster, and clearer.

This month, we rolled out updates for both the front-end and back-end experience. That includes new U.S. privacy laws you need to include in your region settings, a full checklist for CCPA (just like our GDPR one), and major speed and performance upgrades to the app itself.

We’ll also touch on some smaller bug fixes, plus two blog posts we recommend reading before the summer gets busy.

Let’s break it all down.

New U.S. Privacy Laws: Tennessee and Minnesota

Two new state laws are now in effect: the Tennessee Information Protection Act (TIPA) and the Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act (MCDPA). If your store collects data from users in these states, you have new obligations.

These include giving users opt-out options, providing data access request forms, and updating your privacy policies to reflect the data you collect and share.

Consentmo keeps an interactive legal map to help you stay up to date. It’s automatic, so you don't need to go in and do it yourself. Both of these states are already added.

What you should do is visit the US Data Request Page in your app settings and update the US Laws page. That way, visitors from Tennessee and Minnesota see the correct controls based on where they’re located.

⚙️ Enable it now from Settings > Policies > Data request pages.

New Feature: The CCPA Checklist

One of our most used tools is the GDPR Checklist. It helps merchants go through each required step in the compliance setup and track their progress. This month, we launched a similar experience for CCPA.

The CCPA Checklist walks you through the steps California-based visitors expect:

  • How to add a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link
  • Where to disclose tracking cookies or analytics use
  • How to handle data deletion and access requests
  • What language needs to be updated in your Privacy Policy

It’s designed to help you feel confident that you’ve covered what California regulators ask for. Like the GDPR version, it updates live as you complete tasks.

✅ You can find it in Compliance Center > Compliance Center > CCPA Compliance.

New Feature: Font and Size Settings Now in the Design Tab

Now you can customize how your Cookie banner looks by choosing from a list of popular fonts (like Arial, Times New Roman, Georgia, and Inter) and adjusting the font size directly from the app. No need for external CSS overrides or guesswork.

It’s a visual update that helps your banner better match your store’s design and keeps things accessible across different screens. You’ll find it under the Design tab when editing your banner layout.

Major Tech Update: A Faster, Lighter App Experience

This is the biggest behind-the-scenes update we’ve made in months. Our dev team has upgraded Consentmo’s core infrastructure with a new stack of tools, updated servers, and modern frameworks.

Here’s what this means for you as a merchant:

Faster App Load Times
The app now loads much quicker than before. Whether you’re editing the banner, checking reports, or changing settings, pages feel faster and more responsive.

Quicker Feature Development
The new toolchain makes it easier for our team to build, test, and release updates. That means faster turnaround on feature requests and a shorter path from idea to rollout.

Improved Security
With fresh libraries and new security practices in place, Consentmo is now aligned with current data protection standards. Our security posture gets better with every code refresh.

Latest Technologies Built In
We’ve moved over to the latest versions of our core tools. This doesn’t change how you use the app, but it gives us more room to build smarter features in the coming months.

Smaller Fixes and Cleanups

June also brought a few minor bug fixes based on merchant reports and QA checks. These don’t change how major features work but help polish small rough edges:

Accessibility Improvements
The "x" icon on the Cookie bar now has proper contrast, and the "read more" button follows focus indicators better. If you're using your own custom styles, double-check that they follow the same contrast levels to stay in line with accessibility guidance.

Consent Log and Data Request Display Fixes
Long URLs in the logs were causing visual issues. Now they’re shortened with ellipses. You can still view the full link on hover or click, but your logs look much cleaner by default.

If you missed these, now is a great time to catch up. These two blog posts cover topics that are only going to grow in importance over the coming months:

Wrapping Up

June was about structure and speed. Whether it’s adapting to new U.S. laws or giving you faster tools to manage consent, we focused on keeping Consentmo responsive to the changing privacy landscape.

The new tech stack means more improvements are coming. The CCPA Checklist helps more merchants meet local rules. And the Tennessee and Minnesota updates keep our legal map current.

If you haven’t yet added the new state laws to your setup, now is the time. And if you haven’t opened the app in a while, you might notice it runs a little faster next time you do.

More updates are already in the pipeline for July. Until then, thanks for staying compliant with Consentmo.
